Police are appealing for information after a 12-year-old girl was approached and offered sweets by a man in a white van.
The incident happened at around 2.40pm on Wednesday, January 15 on Beech Ride in Fleet .
The passenger, a white man aged in his late 20s to early 30s, who was wearing an orange jumper, spoke to the girl and offered her sweets. The girl did not respond and walked away from the van. The driver then left the area.
Since this was reported, officers have been carrying out a number of inquiries, including reassurance patrols in the local area.
Police would like to hear from anyone in the area at the time who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour or the white van.
Fleet police sergeant Geoff Hill said: “We know this incident may be concerning to the local community, however I would like to reassure you that we are taking this report seriously.
“We have been carrying out regular reassurance patrols in the area and anyone with information which could help our enquiries should get in touch with us.
“I would urge residents to continue to report incidents to us as soon as they happen as it enables our teams to respond accordingly.”
