TWO men have appeared in Guildford Crown Court, accused of raping a woman in an alleyway.
Constantin Ionescu, 36, and Nicolae Dragoi, 42, both Romanian nationals, allegedly set upon the woman and raped her in the early hours of December 9, 2018.
The alleged victim, aged 40 at the time, became separated from her family following an argument, after they returned to Farnham after a day out in London, celebrating her mother’s 70th birthday.
The family had continued celebrations at The William Cobbett public house, and by the time the woman left the pub, she had consumed approximately two and a half times the drink-drive limit, a court heard.
Prosecutor Oliver Dunkin said mobile phones belonging to the defendants – who both deny three counts of rape – were seized when they were arrested, and showed Ionescu had been looking at an appeal on the Farnham Herald website, which included CCTV images of him and Dragoi.
The case continues.
