Helping a less fortunate family this Christmas can be child’s play as potential gifts will be swapped in south Farnham later this month.

The third Great Rowledge Toy Swap in support of Little Fishes Nursery and HomeStart will take place on Tuesday, November 26.

Organisers have called on swappers to drop off good-quality preloved toys at St James’s Church at one of three sessions on Monday, November 25.

Sessions will take place from 8.30am to 9.30am, 2.30pm to 4pm and from 6 to 8pm. Donations must be good “gift” toys while smaller items like matchbox cars should be bundled into a clear ziplock bag.

People who donate will be given a token to exchange for a different toy the following evening from 7.30pm in Little Fishes Nursery.

But there’s no obligation to swap as toys donated by people who don’t want to exchange will be anonymously passed on to a local family in need.

The toy tables will be open to the general public from 8pm with wine, a raffle draw and mince pies donated by Rowledge Co-op also available at the child-free evening.

“It’s all about sustainability and making Christmas that little more affordable,” said a spokesperson.

“It’s also to help those in our community that maybe struggling more during this financially difficult time and to bring the community together in the joyous spirit of Christmas.”

Volunteers are also needed on both nights, to offer help either Whatsapp 07734 169319 or email [email protected]
