The A31 Farnham Bypass will be closed overnight twice next week for an inspection of the Firgrove Hill road bridge.
Surrey County Council said the bypass will close between 8pm and 6am for one night in each direction between Tuesday and Thursday, August 29 and 31.
It has not confirmed if eastbound or westbound will close first.
It is understood the survey results will be fed into the Farnham Infrastructure Programme, which is developing a bid for funding for a new A31/Hickleys Corner junction.
The Firgrove Hill road bridge was built during the mid to late-1950s, to cross the newly-constructed A31 Farnham Bypass. It is pictured above during construction.
