THE Woodlarks Centre in Lodge Hill Road, Farnham, which provides accessible facilities and on-going support through a team of dedicated and trained staff, has been chosen as The Albion’s charity of the year.
To celebrate members of the centre, along with a number of its residents, went for lunch at the family run pub on the outskirts of Farnham.
Julie West, activity co-ordinator, said: “It was actually the first time we have been there. It was a lovely and relaxed atmosphere and very sociable, the pub has great disabled access and toilets.
“We will definitely go back again, in fact we have booked our staff Christmas meal there.”
Every Sunday The Albion, run by Mandy and David Watters, alongside their son Kieron, holds a meat raffle for its customers, it is the money from this weekly raffle which will be donated to the Woodlarks centre.
“Mandy, David and Kieron made us feel so welcome. They were so good, and hospitable, we all really enjoyed it. The residents were talking about it for ages afterwards. They are donating a gift for our Christmas raffle this year as well,” continued Julie.
“We just think if they are supporting us we should be supporting them as well. The meals were incredible, we were so full afterwards. We are looking forward to going back”
