Firefighters at Alton Fire Station have always had plenty of water – and they will need lots of it on Saturday.

The crew are preparing to put down their hoses and pick up some buckets for their annual charity car wash.

It will take place from 10am to 4pm and all proceeds will go to The Fire Fighters Charity, which helps current and former firefighters.

Anyone whose vehicle is in need of lashings of soap and a good scrub is invited to bring it down to the fire station.

The firefighters promise it will leave gleaming like it has just come out of the showroom – and all they want in return is a donation.
