But an East Hampshire youngster has every right to feel smug after making an incredible spectacle out of her vegetables.
Organisers of the Steep Flower Show were Russian to praise Charlotte Sasse after the teenager produced an edible model of St Basil's Cathedral.
The model, complete with leek towers and onion domes, was one of the highlights of a record-breaking afternoon at Bedales School.
Judges had to mull over a record 850 entries at the annual event, with the quality of the produce being excellent throughout.
Four diplomas of merit for outstanding exhibits were awarded for vegetables and flowers while the standard in other categories remained high.
