A BUDDING young artist has celebrated after her work was selected and displayed at the first ever Young Artists’ Summer Show at the prestigious Royal Academy of Arts.
Daisy Holmes-Bowers, aged seven, is a pupil at William Cobbett Primary School, Farnham, whose still life watercolour painting was one of 139 artworks chosen out of more than 6,200 pieces submitted in the hope of being displayed at the world-famous institution in London.
The Year 3 child was said to be “shocked” that her composition, titled Apple, orange, grape, on a plate, was chosen but headteacher Julie Campbell said it is a “remarkable piece of work from someone so young”.
Her painting is now available to view online at youngartists.royalacademy.org.uk/exhibitions/2019.
