VOLUNTARY group The Badshot Lea Bloomers has spent the past nine months working one or two mornings a week building a community garden at the kiln.

The garden has been funded by the Farnham Institute and the lottery fund.

And their work will finally be rewarded when the garden will be officially opened by the mayor of Farnham with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at midday on Saturday, April 2.

The village Easter egg hunt will also be finishing at the kiln at the same time.

The event begins at 10.30am and there will be an opportunity to browse the garden, peruse a plant stall and have a cup of tea and a slice of cake while watching the Berkshire Birds of Prey’s display of raptors, before the ribbon is cut.
