Pupils at a village school have been praised for their generosity as they have given Farnham Foodbank a helping hand.

Youngsters at Badshot Lea Village Infant School took part in a Harvest Festival celebration on Friday (October 25) at St George’s after filling multiple bags and boxes with food.

Pupils, staff and visitors – which included members of Badshot Lea Bloomers who often work with the school on gardening projects – sang songs about autumn and harvest and joined in a prayer of thanks for the food they had.

With a selection of tins, packets and squashes behind her, the school’s headteacher, Gemma Ball, reflected with pupils about why they had collected the food for the Foodbank.

She reminded youngsters – some of whom had started school only a few weeks before – that their donations would be given to people who sometimes did not have money to buy enough food for the week.
