AFTER a relaunch in March, the Hollywater colony, part of the 1st Bordon (Garrison) Scout Group, has 10 newly-invested Beaver Scouts - with more likely on the way.

“This is the next step in restarting the whole group, and the new leader team,” said Guy Townsend, assistant district Scout commander for the Rotherfield district.

“The youngsters are working extremely well together and looking at the programme to the end of May. They will be having a lot of fun.

“It is also good to see 1st Bordon represented at the recent St George’s Day Assembly which was held in Anstey Park, Alton, with the rest of Rotherfield district as, being the oldest group in the district with roots back to 1910, their absence from district events was quite evident. The next step is to start a Cub pack again, which will require more leaders, and then get a committee going again so they can self run rather than being under the wing of the 1st Blackmoor & Whitehill and Rotherfield district.”
