Surrey County Council (SCC) has provided an update about a new school street in Farnham and another road nearby.
Cllr Catherine Powell had been receiving numerous emails regarding Bullers Road becoming a school street and associated road safety improvements on Weybourne Road.
The latest update from SCC is that the school street will be implemented after Christmas and that out of 115 respondents, 57 per cent were happy or very happy with the proposals.
SCC added: “The overall project will also include the implementation of a signalised crossing of Weybourne Road near the junction with Bullers Road. Out of 59 respondents, 70 percent were happy or very happy with the proposed crossing.
“The aim will be to implement the new crossing during the October half term (subject to confirmation of coordination with other road works in Farnham).”
The scheme will be monitored and the timings of the school street will be adjusted if necessary.
