Alton-based Thorn SDS has announced the acquisition of the business by its former managing partner, Martin Green.

The company operates in the space, defence and IT security sectors, providing “people for projects” as part of its managed service solutions alongside offering specialist support services.
Evergreen Capital LP, the New York business that has held a controlling interest since 2011, agreed to sell their share of the business in February and the deal was sanctioned by the UK Cabinet Office in April. Thorn SDS employs staff across sites in Alton and the defence hub in Farnborough, alongside maintaining its subsidiary GmbH business based out of Darmstadt, Germany, which services the European Space Agency.
Martin explained that following the completion of the deal, the trade and assets of the UK business were transferred from the original LLP structure to a limited entity, Thorn SDS Limited. This new formation positions the business for the accelerated growth plans predicted over the next five years.
