JEREMY Hunt has given the Anytime Fitness club in East Street his ‘official nod of approval’ in its mission to get Farnham active again.
During his visit, the town MP was given a tour of the club by staff and Neil Randall, Anytime Fitness UK CEO, to see the range of safety measures in place.
The club, opened by franchisee John Quin in 2015, has always aimed to be a hub for the community, from fundraising for local charities, to partnering with the food bank and becoming a refugee donation point.
More recently the club has expanded into offering courses to help those with a passion for fitness to become a personal trainer. All this and more led to the club winning the Ukactive Club Of The Year – South Region in 2019.
After a challenging year that has seen them open for little over four months, indoor leisure facilities and gyms were given the green light to reopen by the government on Monday last week, and Anytime Fitness Farnham has already reported strong visitor numbers from new and returning members.
Mr Hunt said: “Sport and fitness are so important to people’s physical and mental health – it was a pleasure to meet the team and see the first-class facilities at Anytime Fitness in Farnham. Good luck to staff and customers getting back to those workouts now that the gym is open again.”
