Waverley Grange Care Home in Farnham and Ashley House in Bordon came together to celebrate a significant milestone: the 40th anniversary of Bupa’s first care home opening in the UK.
The ruby anniversary marked four decades of providing care to the elderly, with both homes marking the occasion with a community celebration.
Waverley Grange organised a lively day packed with entertainment for residents, relatives, and staff. The afternoon kicked off with a vibrant staff dance-off, where staff members performed to the delight of the residents.
The fun continued with a special live performance by entertainer and singer Stephen Morrish, who serenaded the residents with some of their favourite tunes, creating a heartwarming and festive atmosphere.
To wrap up the musical celebration, Waverley Grange's home manager Dily Sharkova addressed the gathering with a speech, expressing gratitude to the residents, guests, and staff for their support and commitment.
After all the fun and dancing, the residents were treated to a buffet, giving them a chance to relax and enjoy the festivities.
John Cullum, a resident at Waverley Grange, said:“The Bupa ball was brilliant. I loved watching the staff dancing, it really made us laugh. It was a wonderful day, I enjoyed a glass of bubbly, and the cake was amazing.”
Dily Sharkova, who is also home manager at Ashley House, said: “This year marks a very special milestone for us: 40 years of providing care services across the UK.
“The Ruby Red Carpet party was a huge success with our residents, they loved every second.
“We wanted to take the time to celebrate with our residents as it’s about honouring them and the joy they bring our staff.
