A school in Alton has received a donation from a property businesses to help keep its greenhouse running.

Basingstoke-based Miller Homes donated £1,750 to Treloar School & College in Holybourne to help towards the £5,000 annual cost of keeping the greenhouse running.

Students at the school can continue to lend their hand to tending plants and learning how to grow food. Treloar’s provides care and education to around 170 students with disabilities.

Treloar’s corporate partnerships manager Andy Brown said: “We’d like to thank Miller Homes for the donation, which is greatly appreciated and will help us to keep the greenhouse up and running.”

Miller Homes Southern managing director David Brown said: “This donation is part of our community fund initiative, which was set up to help fund projects which improve our local communities. Bringing joy to the students at Treloar’s by supporting their greenhouse is a wonderful example of this.”
