A NIGHT of carol singing at Blacknest Golf Club just before Christmas was heralded “a great success” by organisers.

The Shantymen Singers were “at their merry best” at the Christmas event and even had some little helpers from the audience singing some well-known yuletide songs.

“The hamper raffle was drawn on the night and the first prize was won by Mrs Bell, second prize went to Mr Thompson and third prize was won by Mr Vincent,” according to the club’s Sarah Harwood.

“Congratulations to you all, we hope you enjoy your goodies,” she said.

“In total, we raised more than £350 for Macmillan and the RNLI,” she added. “Thank you to everyone who supported the event.”
