There was a showing of trust when a discount retailer opened the doors to its new Bordon store.
The early launch didn’t put off shoppers as a good crowd gathered outside B&M for the 8am grand opening of its Forest Centre store on Saturday, June 29.
Staff were given a helping hand at the launch as figures from the Whitehill & Bordon Community Trust took centre stage and officially opened the store.
Colleagues were asked ahead of the ribbon-cutting to nominate a local charity worthy of some VIP treatment.
The inaugural team picked the WBCT to do the honours in acknowledgement of the charity’s work with the community and its programme of inspirational activities and events for youngsters.
The WBCT team were also given £250 of B&M vouchers to help with the charity’s ongoing community work.
“We would like to say a big thank you to the team at WBCT as they helped us to open this B&M,” said the store manager.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue to do the great work they do.”
The manager added: “It was also really exciting to welcome customers through the doors – the feedback so far has been fantastic.”
Customers can expect a wide range of branded groceries including food, drink and pet food in the unit previously occupied by Wilko.
Health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts and plenty more can be found on the shelves of the extensively refurbished store.
