Staff at a Rowledge pub have raised a glass to an energy firm after getting free electricity for the day.
British Gas made the gesture to the Hare & Hounds on Friday, August 2, to celebrate the company's partnership with Team GB and Paralympics GB.
The pub is one of ten nationwide to receive the gift, allowing it to show a host of Olympic sports like athetics, beach volleyball, rowing and swimming to visitors for free.
All 10 pubs are signed up to British Gas’s PeakSave for Business trial which rewards businesses for shifting their electricity usage non-peak times or to alternative renewable electricity.
“Since launching PeakSave, we've helped over 600,000 customers reduce costs and play their part in reducing electricity use at peak times,” said Matt Wood, director at British Gas Business Energy.
“We’re proud to help our customers and British small businesses in Farnham, including The Hare & Hounds, make significant savings and utilise cleaner, greener energy.
He added: “What better way to kick things off than helping the nation watch more sport for less as we cheer on Team GB and ParalympicsGB this summer?
“Whatever the sport, we’ll be powering home fans cheering on all of our Team GB and ParalympicsGB athletes”
British Gas is extending its PeakSave hours to help homeowners tune into the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The firm is offering households half-price electricity every Sunday from 9am-5pm until September 8, while two Saturdays - August 3 and September 7 - are part of the deal.
