IT has become a tradition and each year it is one the delights parents and carers enjoy going to. The occasion is Chawton Primary School’s Easter play.
This year had the descriptive title Roll Back the Stone, which told of that special Easter Sunday when followers of Jesus found he had risen from the dead, and it was performed by year three, year four and year five pupils with an age range of seven to 11.
In charge of the production were teachers Holly Rowland and Tom O’Rourke, who directed their theatrical pupils through three shows, a dress rehearsal on Wednesday, then shows on Thursday evening and Friday morning for parents and carers.
“It went very well” said Mr O’Rourke. “There were no mishaps or mistakes and parents, who supplied the costumes, enjoyed refreshments in the interval.”
