WEYDON School in Farnham is delighted to announce an extraordinary set of GCSE results this year, with 85 per cent of students achieving five A* to C grades including maths and English, and 39 per cent of students achieving grades A* to A overall.

This year’ s high achievers included Ruby Conway who secured nine A*s and two As, whilst Romy Owen walked away with 10 A*s and one B, Daniel Peers who received nine A*s and one A, Amelia Barclay who secured eight A*s and three As and Rose Hudson Oldnall who was awarded eight A*s and two As.

Others included Michael Rossiter with seven A*s and four As, Harry Chart with six A*s and five As, Brooke Darwood wit­h six A*s and five As, Alex Lloyd Mostyn with seven A*s, three A’s and one B, Eleanor Pulfreyman with six A*s and five As, Holly Roscoe with six A*s and five As and James Drewitt-Whatley with seven A*s and two As.

Headteacher John Winter, said: “This year students have excelled themselves. I am delighted that as a group they have broken all previous records for progress.

“This is not because the examinations are getting easier, that is not possible post the education reforms.

“This achievement is due to the magnificent partnership in learning between the dedicated and highly skilled staff and the student’s first class attitude to learning. A truly inspiring, fabulous set of results.”

Students with the best progress included Nikki Dobson, Amelia Barclay, James Drewitt Whatley, Sajidah Szlachetka, Ella Wakeling, Brooke Darwood, Tom Spreadborough and Abi Collis.
