Multi-award winning Welsh harpist Catrin Finch and Ireland’s foremost traditional violinist Aoife Ní Bhriain are coming to The Haymarket in Basingstoke on October 3 at 7.30pm.

Dublin native Aoife Ní Bhriain is one of her generation's most versatile and gifted violinists, a dazzling musician who commands both the classical world and her Irish traditional heritage.

From across the Irish Sea and the west coast of Wales, harpist Catrin Finch has also built an impressive classical career and ventured into uncharted musical territory, most notably through her award-winning collaborations with Senegalese kora player Seckou Keita, Colombian joropo music artists Cimarrón, and Cardiff electronic musician and producer Lee House.

Of her lockdown partnership with House, Catrin said: “It pushes the boundaries. It’s not really harp-based at all, so it’s a bit of a gamble.”

Together, Catrin and Aoife form a formidable virtuoso duo, eager to explore a musical world of creative possibility, challenge and discovery, inspired by a multitude of influences by the rich cultures of their home countries.
