Tickets are on sale for this year’s traditional family pantomime at the Theatre Royal Winchester, Mother Goose, which will run from November 30 to January 5.

The story is of a woman about to be thrown off her land when she cannot pay her rent – until she makes a friend, a goose, which can lay golden eggs, making her rich.

But she is tempted to swap the goose for youth and beauty. She soon realises this is a mistake and then must fight to get back her friend, the goose, to truly live happily ever after.

This will be the first time Mother Goose has been performed at the Theatre Royal Winchester. It will be written by James Barry and Robin Belfield, with music by Simon Slater and direction by Robin Belfield.

The show will be very traditional, packed full of corny jokes, original songs, live music and audience participation, and is suitable for families. It is being supported by regional law firm Paris Smith.

There will be relaxed, audio-described and BSL-interpreted performances, plus a touch tour.
