Sharif Afifi will star in Paradise Lost (lies unopened beside me), Lost Dog’s spectacularly popular, critically acclaimed one-man take on John Milton’s epic poem Paradise Lost, at Farnham Maltings on October 19 at 7pm.

There is a possibility that God made everything because he was terrified of doing nothing. Here is a re-telling of the story of the beginning of everything inspired by Milton's Paradise Lost - told through words, music and the easily misunderstood medium of dance.

Sharif Afifi plays all the characters, creates all the scenes and, despite his best efforts, falls a little short of perfection.

Last year he was nominated for an Olivier Award for his performance in The Band’s Visit at Donmar Warehouse. He was also in the film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

The show was written by its original performer, Ben Duke, who is the award-winning artistic director of Lost Dog Dance.

Combining theatre, comedy and movement, and co-directed by Ben with Lucy Morrison, associate director to the Royal Court, this is an often witty, sometimes acerbic, always observational journey through the story of the creation of everything condensed into 75 minutes.
