The New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham is hosting ceramicist Jess Skelton’s solo exhibition Trajectory - earned by winning the gallery’s Rising Stars Award 2024 - until April 26.

Jess said: “The work is a lot about opposites, including the two sides of me: the purist who wants to throw beautifully formed pots, madly in love with how it feels to throw porcelain; and the punk crock assemblage artist who wants to stack objects precariously, pushing everything to see how far it can go. Seeking that point of precarious resilience just before the collapse.”

Gallery director Dr Outi Remes added: “Her fearless approach to ceramics, embracing imperfection and contrast, is what makes her such a standout talent."

The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm. Admission is free.
