Bentley Amateur Dramatics (BAD) Company hit another high note with its latest production, Who Killed The Secret Agent?, a spy thriller by Chris Martin that brought audiences back to the espionage intrigue of 1961 London.
Set in the depths of MIJ’s headquarters on the morning of April 23, as the world reels to the news of Yuri Gagarin’s orbit, the plot unfolds with humour and suspense, echoing a time when Cold War rivalry reached cosmic heights.
Performing over two sold-out nights, the cast’s hard work in rehearsals paid off with confident performances, entertaining the audience and earning enthusiastic praise.
BAD Co’s annual production is firmly established as a highlight on Bentley’s calendar of events.
Special recognition goes to everyone behind the scenes, from the stage hands and front-of-house crew to the bar team and logistics, marketing and accounts, who together ensured the event ran smoothly.
The production was also made possible by a generous contribution from R A Croft Ltd, the programme sponsor, whose support allowed BAD Co to create a souvenir programme.
BAD Co also owes thanks to Bentley CE Primary School and the FAOS Musical Theatre Group for lending staging equipment, Bentley Parish Council for its grant towards hiring the hall, Clare Nisbet for the loan of telephones and Emma at the Star Inn for organising a pre-show supper.
If this production has sparked an interest, BAD Co warmly invites anyone who would like to get involved in next year’s performance to come forward and join its enthusiastic team.
It looks forward to bringing the community more memorable performances and welcoming new faces into its theatre family. Email Antonia Demetriadi at [email protected] for further details.
