A stage adaptation of The Baddies - a book by children’s author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler - is coming to the Theatre Royal Winchester from March 21 to 23.
It tells of a witch, a troll and an ancient ghost who are the worst baddies in the world. The trio love roaring, spooking and casting spells to try to scare a little girl out of her wits, but who will succeed? Or perhaps the girl is braver than they think?
This show is brought to the stage by Freckle Productions, which was founded in 2017 to create fiction and non-fiction shows for children and their families.
Its productions include adaptations of other Donaldson and Scheffler books including Stick Man, Tiddler and Other Terrific Tales, Tabby McTat, Zog and Zog and The Flying Doctors – the latter two featuring songs by composer Joe Stilgoe, who also wrote the music and lyrics for The Baddies.
The Baddies is an hour long and is recommended for children aged three and above.
There are performances at 4.30pm on March 21, 10am, 1pm and 3.30pm on March 22, and 10am, 1pm and 3.30pm on March 23. For tickets, priced from £15, call 01962 840440 or visit https://www.theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk/whats-on/baddies
