IT was Froxfield's turn to rock on Saturday when the sleepy village turned up the volume for FroxRocks to raise more than £8,000 for good causes. "It was a true community event and we were thrilled at the way things went with a huge amount of support from the village and so many stalls and activities," said organiser Ros Newnham. "So many people helped and the raffle alone raised £3,000 thanks to the many companies who generously gave prizes." Rising worldwide country music stars Ward Thomas joined district bands and village schoolchildren in raising money for new classroom facilities at Froxfield Primary School and maintenance of the church and village hall. Organisers thanked sponsors, among them Mr Whitehead's Cider Company and Newnham & Sons. The General Wine Company also donated wine for the event.
