Disadvantaged children will be getting a special delivery from Santa this Christmas thanks to staff and customers of veterinary practice in Farnham.
The Farnham Veterinary Group asked staff and customers to support the annual KidsOut Giving Tree Appeal by donating toys to less fortunate children.
The response was overwhelming with more than 100 gifts from cuddly toys and crafts sets to Lego and jigsaws being donated by team members and well-wishers.
Student veterinary nurse Amelia Carver organised the FVG collection as she wanted to do “something to help children and families who may be struggling at Christmas time.
“As a child, I was very fortunate to always have presents under the tree, but my family also thought about people who weren’t so lucky,” said Amelia, who has been “overwhelmed” by the generosity shown.
“My mum would donate to a local toy appeal each Christmas so I was always excited at the prospect of being able to buy another child a present.
“The response to our appeal has been incredible – knowing how caring everyone has been really gives you a warm fuzzy feeling.”
Participants were asked to select a gift tag featuring a child’s name and the gift they wanted for Christmas, with presents being purchased and dropped off at their East Street and Ash Vale branches.
The appeal, which runs until December 10, was so successful that the FVG ran out of gift tags in the first week and had to ask for more as some clients bought several presents.
