ARTISTIC director of Farnham Rep Theatre, Brenda Longman, will be the first of a handful of artistes to return to London’s West End in 2020.
She will be playing Mrs Boyle in Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap.
The producers of the world’s longest-running play are pioneering socially-distanced performances from October 23.
Brenda also plays a big part in the world’s longest-running TV show too, as she is the voice of Soo in The Sooty Show.
A new series is planned for June 2021 when she will have been voicing the character for 40 years.
Before lockdown, Farnham Rep Theatre popularly produced and staged rehearsed monthly play readings and hopes to resume in 2021.
In an interview with The Daily Mail, Mousetrap producer Adam Spiegel said the restart was “a symbol of the West End resuming, albeit in a compromised way” – including no touching on stage.
