RESIDENTS of Willow Way in Hale have expressed their fears that a new Costcutter store will bring rowdiness, drunken behaviour and drug dealing to their doorsteps, if a licence to sell alcohol 17 hours a day is granted.
The headteacher of Heath End School, Nick Phillips, has also objected to the application for a premises licence, due to be heard by Waverley Council's licensing committee on Monday.
Deluxchem Rajkumar has applied to be allowed to sell alcohol from 6am to 11pm, seven days a week, at 55-56 Willow Way, formerly a double glazing firm.
The store is next door to a newsagent's shop which sells alcohol, but which had its licensing hours restricted following a battle by residents three years ago.
