Barclays is checking out of Farnham town centre once and for all judging by a planning application.
The firm wants to withdraw all traces of its previous existence on the corner of The Borough and South Street having closed its branch last month.
A planning application has been submitted to Waverley Borough Council to remove the external ‘Barclays’ signage, CCTV camera, night safe and cash machine.
The space left by the latter’s removal will be infilled with brickwork to match the building’s exterior.
Internal furniture and counters will also be removed if the application by Barclays, which owns the building, is approved.
The firm say the changes will allow the building to “evolve” while returning it to its “pre-Barclays occupation” as much as possible.
