The 100-home development, at the former Quebec Barracks, is said to be a “pivotal” piece of the project to breath new life into the town after the Army’s departure.
It is the first estate of new housing to be completed as part of the town redeveloment, which will see up to 3,350 new homes built over the next 15 to 20 years.
Eastleigh-based housing group Radian, which has developed the homes, said this week that the “wait is over” for house hunters as the “highly anticipated development” is “launched to great acclaim”, with first residents expected to move in early next year.
Quebec Park was officially opened by East Hampshire District Council’s leader Ferris Cowper last Friday.
The development consists of 100 “high-quality” two, three and four-bedroom homes, including coach-houses, terraces, townhouses and detached properties.
The first-phase release of three and four-bedroom homes are priced from £340,000, with Help to Buy available on selected plots to assist those looking to take their first or next step on the property ladder.
The Government’s Help to Buy scheme offers assistance with deposit savings and mortgage payments through shared ownership and equity loans.
Guests at the launch event were given a tour of the development, with a first look at the new homes, which are said to set the benchmark for future builds in Whitehill and Bordon.
Zoe Bonnington, assistant director of new business, sales and marketing at Radian, said: “These new homes are expected to appeal to a wide range of people, from downsizers to first-time buyers and young families.
“We’ve already had a great deal of interest from potential buyers, which is not surprising given the superb location.”
Ms Bonnington continued: “Not only are the homes surrounded by the beautiful South Downs, they are close to the Surrey border which is perfect for those commuting to either Guildford or London.
“The launch was a great success. Those who attended were really impressed with the build so far and expressed real excitement as to what it will bring for the future of Whitehill and Bordon.”
The homes at Quebec Park, in Camp Road, in Bordon, have energy-saving features built into their fabric, including solar panels.
Radian said the development will “attract local buyers and those from further afield such as Farnham and Guildford”.
“Now is an excellent time to consider purchasing a new home at Quebec Park as the significant regeneration is expected to spark a potential house-price rise as a result of the new facilities and amenities the regeneration will bring to the area,” Ms Bonnington added.
“We’d encourage anyone interested to get in touch with the sales team to find out more.”
Mr Cowper said of last week’s milestone: “The launch event at Quebec Park marks a pivotal moment in the regeneration of Whitehill and Bordon. Up to this point we have been planning and preparing the town for a prosperous and exciting future - this is the point that we can all start to see the tangible benefits right in front of us.
“The new residents will be able to enjoy a fantastic quality of life with green spaces, such as the Bordon Inclosure which has numerous community events organised by the Deadwater Valley Trust, or at The Phoenix Theatre nearby. This is a wonderful time for Whitehill and Bordon, its residents and its businesses.”
Complementing what Radian describes as “the strong community base in the area”, a new cafe, run by Radian’s RKdia catering, will be built onsite as part of the “community hub” building.
The show home is open seven days a week, from 10am to 5.30pm. Visit radianhomes.co.uk/quebecpark.
