Young photographers are being asked to ‘Say It With Flowers’ by the Rotary Clubs of Farnham.
That is the theme of their annual photographic competition for children aged up to 13 and teenagers aged 14 to 18.
A Rotary spokesperson said of the theme: “This can be a simple photograph of wild flowers, or a single bloom, or you can create a high or low key image, in colour or mono. There are many interpretations. Look for the not so obvious!”
Two pictures per person are allowed and must be the work of the entrant.
The University for the Creative Arts in Farnham will host the exhibition. There will be a private viewing for competitors and their families in September, and it will be open to the public for several days.
The spokesperson added: “We are very grateful to UCA. There is an excellent photographic department at the university and we very much hope that one of the tutors there will judge this year’s competition.
“Certificates will be awarded to all entrants and the first three winners in each age group will receive a prize.”
Pictures should be emailed to Judith Stephens at [email protected]
Rotary will have the pictures printed for the entrants but the clubs reserve the right to not print any which are of very poor quality or in any way unsuitable.
The spokesperson said: “Be sure to email titles and your name, age and contact number, or that of a parent or guardian. Get snapping!”
