If you want to improve your photography but don’t know where to start, then focus on the Aldershot, Farnham and Fleet Camera Club.
The stunning work of AFFCC members has appeared many times in the Herald, not least in early July as they took some fantastic images of the Farnham Carnival.
Now, they’re giving other snappers a chance to improve their skills as a nine-month programme of activities, workshops, outings and more will begin on September 11.
If you can’t get your head around the features on your camera or smartphone, or want to take the perfect holiday snap, then the AFFCC can help.
Newbies will be in good hands with individual or group mentoring available from award-winning members. Photography-related presentations, outings and photo clinics are also provided by a friendly and supportive group keen to boost photographic results.
While members follow their personal photographic interests during the summer months, the club continues to run a “monthly challenge” with bricks, curves, liquids and petals being recent themes.
Examples are viewable at https://affcc.uk/challenges while they’ve also provided support and photographic coverage at events like the Farnham Festival, Beer Festival and Victoria Day in Aldershot. They can be challenging events to cover, but their results are always well-received by organisers and social media users.
This year’s programme includes new workshops and outings to develop photographic skills with a 30 Days, 10 Countries, 13 Cities, 20 Photographs presentation in September. It will be followed a week later with an evening session in Farnham to implement the techniques and ideas discussed in the presentation.
Would-be members can attend a meeting for free with no obligation but annual membership is £50 to include all presentations, workshops, competitions and personal mentoring if requested.
