A property on Downing Street - no, not that one - has a new owner as a banger of a new business has arrived in Farnham town centre just in time for BBQ season.
Farnham Family Butchers is the latest addition to the street’s array of independent businesses having opened on Thursday, June 27.
Many customers popped in to see the plethora of locally-sourced meat and ready-to-cook products with the shop enjoying a brisk opening day’s trade.
The butcher doesn’t just specialise in meat as they offer a wide range of chutneys, jams, cheeses, eggs and plenty more in addition to an impressive selection of prime cuts.
The shop was renovated in just three weeks with the owners admitting to having a few sleepless nights and long days ahead of its grand launch.
But customers and staff were delighted with the big day with the smell of freshly cooked Lincolnshire sausage enticing shoppers into the store and giving them a taste of things to come.
Owners Paul and Becky Dawkins are excited to open and believe that a family butcher is just what Farnham needs on Downing Street.
Becky said: “It is lovely to be in Farnham I’m born and bred in the area.
“I’ve been a butcher for 17 years so it's nice to get my own now, especially in Farnham.”
She added: “Everything you see is homemade and made by us from the burgers to the sausages and everything prepared that you see is made with passion and love.”
