THE battle of the supermarkets has taken a new twist this week with the dismissal at appeal of the Tesco proposal for Mill Lane and the wading in of Morrisons on the Alton Station site.
Government inspector David Hollis gave the thumbs down to Tesco Stores Ltd over an appeal against East Hampshire District Council's decision to refuse an application for a food store with a net retail area of 3,600 sqm and undercroft parking on the junction of Mill Lane with Montecchio Way.
