The Tiffinians match was one of several fixtures postponed amidst the drenching rain of last Saturday.
Farnham's incentive to win could not be greater, following the Surrey 1 games that were played at the weekend.
With their own game cancelled, Farnham donned their wax jackets and travelled to Old Paulines, scene of their own surprise loss three weeks before, to witness the defeat of London Irish Amateurs, their great rivals for promotion.
The score was 22-15 to Old Paulines, who surely benefited from the extra 20 Farnham voices baying for their victory.
The situation now stands that if Farnham beat Old Tiffinians, then only Kingston can stand in the way of automatic promotion.
Kingston and Farnham have both lost two matches and drawn one, but Farnham's points differential is around 150 greater than their rivals.
Statistics aside, Farnham must use Saturday's game against G&G to fine-tune their technique and hone their aggression, to ensure victory against Old Tiffinians, not their most favourite opponents, who will doubtless be keen to steal their glory.
A Farnham player said with admirable understatement: "To throw away this final chance of league victory would be unacceptable."
