NEW Alton dance school Art-v-Motion, which is owned by Strictly Come Dancing professionals Neil and Katya Jones, has made a successful debut in Blackpool – the mecca of ballroom dancing.

And leading the way was Glynis Watts, district councillor for Holybourne and Froyle, who has recently taken up ballroom dancing as a hobby.

Art-v-Motion principle teacher Vitor Fernandes said: “This was the first year for Art-v-Motion at Blackpool and I am delighted with the success of my students, with a number of finalists and outright winners in both ballroom and Latin.

“Above all, we all had a really fun weekend and look forward to starting the hard work for the 2018 competitive season.”

Glynis Watts, who was a Blackpool finalist, said: “Taking up ballroom dancing was one of the best decisions I’ve taken and, with the encouragement and expertise of Vitor, I have achieved far more than I ever thought possible.”

Art-v-Motion, which is based at the Bell House Dance Studio, caters for all levels and ages, with increasing interest from youngsters.

Vitor said: “Whether you are looking to join a fun beginners’ class or take private lessons with a view to progressing more quickly and joining the competition squad, Art-v-Motion can help.”
