A RURAL craftsman who counts Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Kevin McCloud as fans will give an illustrated talk to a green-minded group from West Sussex next week.
Ben Law is an “extraordinary man” and “true pioneer” who has a passion for the woodland of West Sussex and its heritage, biodiversity and associated crafts.
The charcoal producer came to national attention in 2003 when the building of his woodland house appeared on Grand Designs.
The design became one of the most popular in the history of the long-running series while Ben’s determination to inspire the next generation of woodland managers, traditional craft-workers and social foresters shows no sign of ending.
Law will talk to the Friends of the South Downs about his “woodland renaissance” from 7.30pm next Friday, November 22, in Lodsworth village hall, near Petworth.
Tickets are £10 for members and £12 for visitors to include wine and nibbles, visit www.friendsofthesouthdowns.org.uk or call 01798 875073 for more details.
