The carnival may be over but the organisers of a huge community event in Hale are already thinking about next year.

The Hale Carnival committee wants to keep the party going but they’re looking for fresh blood and new ideas as four members have retired.

The departing group have left on a high as this year’s carnival on Hale Recreation Ground was a triumphant weekend of family fun and football.

The event was opened by Farnham Town Crier’s and was followed by Maypole dancing from Folly Hill school.

Local schools and groups joined in a procession through Hale with Bethel Baptist Church, Transform Housing and Support, William Cobbett and Folly Hill Infant Academy all taking part.

The event finished with a bang as a firework display and live music brought the carnival to a noisy but exciting conclusion.
