BOURNE Wood Manor care home in Farnham is the latest Porthaven home celebrating a newly-achieved ‘good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission.
Staff and residents were reportedly overjoyed upon learning of their new status following their first inspection by the health and social care regulator.
Considered to be ‘good’ in every category of the report, inspectors commended staff for the way in which they valued and protected the independence and dignity of residents.
Inspectors were also impressed by the warm and respectful interactions they witnessed within the home. They stated residents were “cared for by kind and attentive staff who had positive relationships with them”.
Praise was also given to the management of the home, with one relative telling inspectors they thought Bourne Wood Manor was “very well led”, adding there is “nothing they could do better”.
The report noted there had been a number of compliments from relatives regarding the quality of care given to their loved ones by staff.
Bourne Wood Manor’s home manager Sue Arquier has been leading the team since the home opened its doors in 2017.
She said: “It’s a privilege to be able to care for our residents and to see how the home has thrived since opening.
“We’re delighted with the outcome of the report. Bourne Wood Manor’s success is testament to the hard work, dedication and compassion shown by every member of my team and we’re looking forward to celebrating this achievement all together.”
