LIPHOOK Day Centre held a traditional high tea party for the public and its clients, which raised £270 toward its running costs.
The stylish event proved to be popular, attracting 28 customers who enjoyed a selection of cakes, eclairs and scones, which were donated by Moodies Catering Company, home-made sandwiches and tea.
A table plan was drawn up by day centre committee members and staff, who also provided floral table decorations and service for the guests.
Manager Penny Leigh said: “The day centre would like to say a big thank you to Moodies, our local catering company, for the wonderful selection of cakes and to the Liphook Bakery for providing bread for the sandwiches.
“We managed to bring seven of our clients in the new minibus to the event, who would not have been able to get there otherwise.
“The Liphook Age Concern minibus, which has now been in action for just over a year, is wonderful for transporting up to nine people. The areas covered are Liphook, Conford, Passfield, Griggs Green, Bramshott, Bramshott Chase and Hammer.
“It is intended to be used only as a run around in the parish, not for trips out and we are appealing for more volunteer drivers to come forward so that the service can really benefit the senior people of our parish,” Penny added.
