GENEVIEVE Mosely, 90, and Ernest Bradbury, 85, have proven age is no barrier for love, having fallen in love since meeting at Signature at Moorlands Lodge care home in Hindhead.
The couple, whose rooms are opposite one another, are inseparable around the care home and celebrated Valentine’s Day together with fellow residents over a romantic lunch.
The loved-up couple first met at Moorlands Lodge in autumn 2020, after Ernest moved from Wales to be closer to his family.
However, Ernest was to quickly find another reason for the move to be worthwhile when he quickly fell in love with his close neighbour.
Genevieve, who has lived at Moorlands Lodge since 2015, was on hand to make her future companion feel comfortable from his first day in his new home.
Together, Ernest and Genevieve enjoy similar food, musical entertainment and socialising as part of a wider circle of couples at Moorlands.
Their companionship and togetherness helped one another through the Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions that came with it, with care homes facing constraints on welcoming visitors and protective bubbles.
However, last week, Ernest and Genevieve were able to enjoy bubbles of a different type as they joined fellow couples and friends at the care home in a celebratory Valentine’s Day lunch.
Together, Ernest and Genevieve said: “Above all the things we have in common, the thing we value most is simply enjoying ourselves and having a laugh.
“We are both so fortunate to be able to live together and enjoy the fun that life can offer. We have each other, our friends and the great staff at Moorlands Lodge.
“We love having each other’s company, and couldn’t think of a nicer, more relaxing setting to be able to share together.”
Speaking of their special relationship, Thomas McGlashan, client liaison manager at Signature Senior Lifestyle, said: “It is so wonderful to see Ernest and Genevieve happy together, and I am thrilled Moorlands Lodge has played a small part in helping them find one another.
“We pride ourselves on residents having a fulfilled, active life filled with fun and laughter – something that is particularly evident with Ernest and Genevieve!”
