CELEBRATING the fifth anniversary of re-opening, bosses at The Deer’s Hut at Griggs Green threw a Hollywood movies party on New Year’s Eve, which attracted a full house to the pub near Liphook.
Guests walked the red carpet into a stylishly decorated bar and restaurant, were greeted by staff wearing glamorous outfits, were served good food, and were snapped holding their Oscars. They could even sit on a casting couch!
Everyone was a winner, with some amazing costumes from famous movies on show, including 101 Dalmatians, Star Wars, Grease, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Great Gatsby, Titanic, Top Gun, Where’s Wally as well as Indiana Jones, The Pink Panther, Harry Potter, and Batman – closely followed by Catwoman
Pub managing director Debbie Steel said: “We have now been open five years since the big re-furbishment in 2013 and I wanted to give our customers a stylish and special night to remember.
“All the staff have been great and joined into the spirit of the evening, while at the same time working very hard to keep everyone happy as well as serving food and drinks. They are a great team.
“Our regulars and some newcomers had a great time too and I would like to say a big thank-you to all the guests who made such a huge effort to dress up for the occasion. Happy New Year to everyone.”
Live music was provided by Good Times Roll who kept revellers on the dance floor – before signing Auld Lang Syne to see in the New Year.
