THE Inner Wheel Club of Farnham recently held a coffee morning to raise funds for its overseas charity for the year, Mary’s Meals.
The charity provides meals to some of the world’s poorest children every day they attend school.
Mary’s Meals attracts children into the classroom where they receive an education, which can set them free from poverty in later life.
Farnham Inner Wheels International organiser, Judith Wheatley held the coffee morning at her home and served mulled wine and mince pies as well as the coffee.
The club was able to send a donation of £500 to Mary’s Meals, £200 of which was raised at the coffee morning.
The UK Government agreed to double any donations made by December 28, so the charity will benefit from a total of £1,000.
