Internet fitness star Joe Wicks was doing star jumps for joy after dining at a Michelin-credited restaurant near Farnham.
The Wrecclesham-based restaurant Maison is owned by chef Ben Piette and his wife Lornette and located in an old 15th century red brick house with an original bread oven.
Posting on his Instagram story, Joe Wicks said: “This is the wonderful husband and wife team at Maison Farnham. It’s not just the food that made this so special it was their energy.”
It comes just weeks after Maison was listed in the sought-after Michelin Guide, with judges saying the couple “treat guests as if they were old friends, which helps add to the ‘dinner party’ feel.”
Ben and Lornette add on their website “Nowadays, dining is fun and an experience! Ignore the past stigma of fine dining… we are welcoming you into our home, where you can sit back, relax and enjoy some ‘banging’ food.”
Maison’s menu is ‘hyper-seasonal’ and changes on a daily basis in accordance with what’s in season.
The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday from 6.30pm and diners can reserve a handful of spots in the main dining area or treat themselves to ‘Ben Table’.
This lets guests see first hand the talent and experience Ben has acquired over 27 years, going through culinary school in France to working in London and McLaren HQ cooking for the likes of Ron Dennis, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button then setting up his own restaurants.
You may face a wait for a table though!
