FARNHAM ASSIST held its annual Christmas lunch at Brightwell’s Gostrey Centre for 70 Farnham residents, who enjoyed a jolly time being served a full Christmas turkey lunch.

The event was assisted by the Mayor and Mayoress of Farnham, John and Gillian Ward, as well as sponsor Howzat Cricket Club’s members Mark and Paul.

Carols were sung and gift boxes, donated by generous residents arranged by our sister paper the Surrey and Hants News, were handed out by the mayor to all the guests.

Susie Blackwood from Farnham ASSIST, said: “It was an extremely busy but rewarding day.

“Farnham ASSIST would like to thank all the volunteers who worked so tirelessly throughout the day and week before preparing for the special lunch, as well as the mayor and mayoress who took time out of their busy schedule to mingle with the guests and serve them in such a special way.

“Farnham ASSIST couldn’t have put on such a lovely meal without the fundraising efforts of Howzat Cricket Club, who paid for the Christmas festivities from donations throughout the year at club events, we would like to pass on our gratitude to Howzat Cricket Club for all their efforts.”
