Heard the one about the piano that tried to cross the road?

A key delivery recently took place in Farnham as an upright piano was skilfully manoeuvred across South Street before an intrigued audience of motorists and pedestrians.

Workers from Sunningdale firm, Handel Pianos Ltd, wheeled the piano from Spire Church to the Methodist Hall on a special trolley after shifting a grand piano in the former.

And although the weather was cold the operation went without a hitch with the piano being safely installed in its new location.

The unusual sight struck a chord with onlookers while the relocated piano will be available to accompany church activities, choirs and musical groups who use its new home on a regular basis.
