MORE than 220 people from Sheet village and around Petersfield attended the Remembrance Sunday service at St Mary Magdalen Church, Sheet.

The service was led by Reverend Richard Saunders and the sermon was given by Reverend Max Cross. Readings were given by Rear Admiral David Snelson CB and Commander Tim Horne RN.

Wreaths were laid by Vice Admiral Sir John Dunt KCB and Sheet parish councillor Robin Forrest, as well as by 1st Sheet Scouts who had made a beautiful enamel poppy wreath.

A two-minute silence was observed at 11am and Reveille performed by trumpeter Hilmar Hauer. 1st Sheet Scouts also presented the colours during the service.
